The Company Program

WHAT IS THE COMPANY PROGRAM?

This after-school program is designed to give high school students an opportunity to set up and run a business for themselves.

Guided by a team of volunteer business consultants, these young entrepreneurs gain practical, first-hand experience running their own REAL business. The students form a company, raise start-up capital, elect company management, produce and market a product or service, and then go on to liquidate their business at the end of the 20 week program.

The Volunteer Business Consultant

Within The Company Program, 4 - 5 volunteer business consultants are assigned to each group of 12 - 25 students. Working in a facilitative role, the volunteers help guide the students through the various decision-making processes they encounter while running their own company. Ideally, the volunteer consultants will share their expertise and experience with the students while helping to deliver the program through the material provided by Junior Achievement.
